In this time where eating healthy has become so important, so many of us don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables, although we know it is good for us. What can we do?
The best way has to be to cook more healthy home made meals. What’s crucial though is to think about this as a chance to spend this time with your children and partner. Make it fun and interesting.
But cooking does take more time than we can always spare, with busy lives, and it is all too easy to not include the 5 portions of fresh fruit and veg that we need each day.
That’s where smoothies come in!
All you want is a blender,or smoothie maker and fruit. It is that straightforward. Attempt to play with the flavours. You are able to add whatever you want. If you don’t try it, how can you know if you’re keen on it or not?
My partner and I fooled about with some flavours the past weekend and I’m able to tell you, it tasted great. You can get recipe books for the way to make smoothies, but as I mentioned, make it up as you go along. First we attempted mixing banana, strawberries, kiwi fruit, grapes and plain yoghurt. It tasted LOVELY.
This isn’t a sweet combination, so if you’ve got a sweet tooth, perhaps you should try our 2nd recipe. The following one we attempted, we used a mango, banana, yellow melon and yoghurt. This was a sweeter option.
We thought that next time we’ll try to replace the banana with a strawberry or two. Do not know how it’ll taste, but we will definitely try.
Making smoothies is a fab time to spend together, learning to hear one another and compromise on what fruit you need to try and just have GREAT fun! Go on, make your own smoothie and have a great time!
