A Blender or a Smoothie Maker - what are the differences?

A Smoothie Maker is very similar to a Blender. But it does have some differences.

  1. It normally has a higher wattage than a blender, giving it the power to really pulverize whatever you throw in.
  2. The mixing chamber is narrower. This directs the fruit and the ice downwards, toward the blades. Making it it mix more efficiently.
  3. A Smoothie Maker may also have a spout toward the bottom to dispense your smoothie. Unlike a blender, this feature enables you to serve the smoothie without having to lift the glass chamber out and pourthe smoothie from the top - much easier.
  4. It may also come with a “stir stick,” that fits into the mixing chamber and helps mix the ingredients up better.
